History:

Mlamba High School is an ultra modern School which was built through with the funding of donors from Morocco and Constituency Development Fund (CDF),Mwatate constituency.  However, the school infrastructure is yet to be completed i.e science laboratories (partly done), hostels, dining hall, staff  houses, sporting fields and land scaping which still require monetary assistance for the school to realize its full potential.

The foundation stone was laid down on 30th November, 2004, by the  then Vice-President of Kenya, H.E Moody Awori.

Upon the completion of the first phase which comprised of administration block and classes the school was officially opened on 31st August, 2007 by the 3rd President of Kenya, H.E Mwai Kibaki, thereby admitting the first batch of students on 10th March 2009.  The first (Admission number 0001) student to be admitted in school was Carolyne Mwamachi who coincidentally happens to have been the School’s star in athletics and cross-country representing the school and coast region as a whole for three consecutive years in the National’s secondary schools sports championships.

The Pioneer Principal was Mr. Mwachofi Mwaghesha whereas the pioneer Chairman Board of Governors (BOG) was Mr. Leonard Mwashumbe.

Admission
With the absence of boarding facilities the school usually admits students from the nearby primary schools.  However, those from far make their own arrangements for accommodation.  Currently, the students roll is 218 and is expected to move up to 300 and above in the near future.
